Although it is immobile by definition, our architectural heritage is not exempt from unregulated relocation. Sixty Eiffel towers, a dozen of Great Pyramids of Giza, thirty leaning towers of Pisa… Architectural doppelgangers are multiplying all over the world and new generation of tourists is discovering the possibility of traveling without moving, without taking any risks, and for far lower cost. Why do these places exist? Who makes them, who thinks them up? What do they have to say about the original models, which are often European? And what stories are born inside these copies where some people choose to live?
