The twelve-year-old migrant Veysel and his family have a hard time settling in Austria and get increasingly caught up in family conflicts. Only when Veysel meets his neighbor Cem, who teaches him how to say a German poem for the school, he works up all his courage, to recite this to Ana, his secret love. But the immigration police makes him a spanner in the works.
